Indianapolis 500 has 21 drivers who have won multiple times
Here are the drivers who earned more than a spot on the Borg-Warner Trophy with their victory at the Indianapolis 500.
Will Power wins Sunday’s IndyCar Series race at Portland International Raceway by more than 9 seconds over championship leader Alex Palou.
Power takes the 44th victory of his career and his third of the season, but with three races to go he only manages to reduce the gap to Palou’s lead by a few points.
Palou is still a full race ahead of the rest of the field in the points classification and is aiming for his third championship title in four years.
Colton Herta, who started the race in second place, finished the race in fourth place and fell to third place in the points standings.
Josef Newgarden takes the last podium place and pole sitter Santino Ferrucci finishes eighth.
Scott Dixon’s slim title hopes are likely dashed with a first-lap crash following contact with Pietro Fittipaldi.
