Rescue workers rescue person after rollover accident near Elizabethtown

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Multiple fire departments responded to a rollover accident near 400 Sweet Home Church Road around 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7.

According to the Elizabethtown Fire Department, initial reports said three people, including a toddler, were trapped and that the car was on fire.

“We were able to quickly determine that this was the only person in the vehicle and that there was no fire. An extensive rescue of the patient began, which required all hands. All emergency services worked tirelessly to free the patient in less than 25 minutes. This was a very complex incident and everyone involved did a great job,” the EFD said in a statement.

The person trapped in the car was transported to a hospital by EMS. EFD Station 55, the Town of White Lake Fire Department, Bladen County EMS and officers from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene.
