Report: T-Mobile support team uses third-party service to collect sensitive data

With increasing concerns about data security and hacking, people have become more cautious about the links they click and the information they share. So when T-Mobile T-Force’s social media support team sent out a form hosted by a third-party company, many users were confused about whether it was a hacking attack or a phishing scam.

As reported by The Mobile ReportThe specialized support team uses Khoros to collect information from customers. The report included a screenshot of a “Handset Upgrade Form” that T-Force had sent out. Since the form’s URL seems suspicious, many users fear that the form is legitimate.

However, as the report confirmed, the link is legitimate. Support team members confirmed that they are using the new service to collect sensitive data. By using a secure form, customer service representatives do not need to receive or see any of the customers’ private information.

However, it is concerning that T-Mobile did not host the form on its own servers. Previously, sensitive data was processed through T-Mobile’s domain, so we wonder why this had to change. But hopefully Khoros is a more secure solution for such information.
