Report: Daughter of a classmate of Lions coach Dan Campbell shared her speech after the loss in the NFC title game

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced last week that he had to move out of his home last year and move to a more private location due to safety concerns.

After the Lions lost the NFC championship game to the San Francisco 49ers, the incidents escalated. Someone posted Campbell’s address in Michigan on Snapchat and called the coach a “stupid motherfucker.”

The post was shared by a classmate of Campbell’s daughter, The Detroit News reported Monday, citing police reports.

Lions and NFL security officials were reportedly involved in the incident, raising concerns among Campbell’s wife, Holly, about the family’s long-term future in their home, the newspaper reported.

A month after the NFC title game loss, more and more people started showing up, including in one case “a frightened daughter who went away for the night.” The Detroit News reported that Elton Moore, the team’s director of security, called police and said someone had tracked down Campbell’s home address.

According to the report, the daughter’s classmate was investigated for the social media post. The classmate told officers he and his friends were “distraught” over the loss and decided to drive to Campbell’s house and yell things toward the house.

Holly Campbell said she was concerned about the family’s long-term future and what might happen during the 2024 season.

Dan Campbell told Crain’s Detroit Business last week that he and his wife had decided to sell their Bloomfield Township home for about $4.5 million.

“There’s plenty of room. It’s on a 2-acre lot. The house is beautiful,” he said. “People only found out where we lived when we lost.”
