Rangers remain top of the SWPL table

Rangers remain top of the SWPL after another high-scoring win, while Celtic and Hibernian also maintained their 100% records.

Jo Potter’s team won 9-0 at Link’s Park and Katie Wilkinson made headlines again when she scored a hat-trick to make it 11 goals in just four games this season.

Laura Rafferty, also a summer signing, scored her first goal for the club when she headed in a cross from Lizzie Arnot.

Rio Hardy, Mia McAulay, Kirsty Howat, Brogan Hay and Tessel Middag also got on the scoresheet.

Defending champions Celtic continued their winning streak with a 4-0 away victory at Aberdeen.

Murphy Agnew scored the 1-0 goal after just four minutes when she headed in a pinpoint cross from Maria McAneny.

Amy Gallacher then scored from close range to double the visitors’ lead.

Jenny Smith and Mathilde Carstens completed the scoring for Elena Sadiku’s side with two impressive goals, meaning the Dons finished the game with ten goals after Nicola Jameison was sent off for a second yellow card.

After the 5-0 win in Motherwell, Hibs overtake Celtic and are now in second place.

Kathleen McGovern scored her first hat-trick in green and white, while fellow striker Eilidh Adams came off the bench to score the goal.

Michaela McAlonie scored her first goal of the season, highlighting another impressive performance from Grant Scott’s team.

Hearts also continued their winning streak, scoring eight goals against Dundee United at Foundation Park.

Jess Husband scored two goals in the first ten minutes to give the Edinburgh team a comfortable lead.

Bayley Hutchison scored her first and second goals in maroon, while Sade Adamolekun also scored two goals.

Naomi Powell and Monica Forsyth were the other goalscorers for Hearts.

Glasgow City won 2-0 at Partick Thistle’s makeshift home stadium in Kirkintilloch.

Wilma Forsblom put City ahead with her first goal of the season before Natalia Wrobel scored her first goal for the club to double the lead before half-time.

Thistle found no answer and remained with just one win in four games.

Meanwhile, Ami Robertson’s late goal secured Queen’s Park’s first win of the season against the Spartans.

It was a hard-fought game with plenty of chances on both sides, but Robertson’s high shot in the 88th minute secured all three points for the promoted team.
