At the peak of his career, Randy Travis was the biggest star country music could be: hit singles, Grammy awards, induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, a co-starring role with Patrick Swayze.
But a stroke in 2013 ended his career, robbing him of his distinctive voice and the stage on which he performed in front of hundreds of thousands of fans. But that won’t stop him from touring.
The Randy Travis: More Life Tour comes to Orange Park’s Thrasher-Horne Center on January 25. The tour will feature Travis’ longtime touring band playing his big hits (he’s had 16 No. 1 country hits in his career), with singer James Dupré filling in for Travis’ vocals. Travis himself will be on hand for a meet-and-greet with fans and a “special appearance.” At shows over the summer, Travis and his wife reportedly sat onstage, watched the show and chatted with fans.
A six-time Grammy winner, two-time Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, and Academy of Country Music’s 1985 Best New Male Vocalist, Travis topped the country charts with major hits such as “Forever and Ever, Amen,” “Diggin’ Up Bones,” and “Deeper Than the Holler.”

The Randy Travis: More Life Tour stops at the Thrasher-Horne Center on Saturday, January 25th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $39-$160.
