PSG without Mbappe hands over six of its best players to Montpellier

Paris Saint-Germain seems to be doing well even without Kylian Mbappe.

PSG beat Montpellier 6-0 on Friday for their second win in two games in the French league, with the team initially playing without Mbappe, who moved to Real Madrid in the off-season.

PSG are aiming for their fourth consecutive league title, but many had expected them to loosen their grip on the trophy following the departure of their star striker.

However, this has not been the case so far, as the team scored ten goals in their first two games.

Bradley Barcola opened the scoring after three minutes with a shot from a tight angle from nine metres, and Marco Asensio increased the lead with a low shot from the centre of the box after a fine pass from João Neves.

For 19-year-old Neves, who came from Benfica in the off-season, this was the third assist in two games.

Eight minutes into the second half, Ousmane Dembélé provided Barcola with the easiest of goals with a perfect pass, Achraf Hakimi increased the lead to 4-0 with an inside-foot volley in the 57th minute, and Warren Zaïre-Emery scored another goal on the hour mark.

Substitute Lee Kang-in scored his second goal in two games when he scored the winning goal eight minutes from time.

Montpellier has one point from the first two games.
