The PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Collection went on sale today and within seconds the throwback package sold out.

And as is unfortunately the way of things these days, black marketeers are already trying to make a huge profit off their newly acquired goods, even though the package was sold for £960 on the PlayStation website.

A quick look at eBay shows that numerous PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary packages have now been sold on the online auction site, at prices far above those of Sony.

One item listed as sold had an asking price of over £4,000. Other sales have had asking prices of over £2,000 – more than double what the PlayStation maker was asking for. Unsold items now have asking prices of up to £10,000.

Before the sales launch, Sony announced that the Anniversary series would only be available “while stocks last.”

The company only released 12,300 PS5 Pro consoles for the 30th anniversary, with that number being a nod to the brand’s original launch date of December 3. It’s unclear how much of that stock was available to purchase here in the UK.

Each of the consoles is individually numbered and features PlayStation logos in classic colors and textured plastic with embossed PlayStation symbols.

Although the anniversary bundle is sadly sold out, the standard PS5 Pro is still available on the PlayStation website. The diskless Pro console costs £700 and includes a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller and – like the PS5 – a pre-installed copy of Astro’s Playroom. Generally, you’ll need to buy the vertical stand separately (£24.99).
