Providence Centralia Service – FORWARD — UFCW 3000

Last week, on August 15, we had our first round of negotiations with Providence and came to the table to pass many initial proposals. We shared with hospital leadership our concerns about hours and wages and the difficulties many of us face when having to make decisions between necessities like housing, food and transportation. Other topics of discussion included 36-hour full-time work weeks, onboarding new employees, equity and inclusion, overtime and additional shifts. Our team is negotiating again on September 23 and 30 – stay tuned!

“We feel they listened and that our first meeting was a step in the right direction. Both sides negotiated in good faith and were responsive to each other, not reactive. We are hopeful about what the next meeting brings – join us next month in wearing your union stickers and colors to show solidarity!” —Our union bargaining team: Dorys Sanders, Steven Tifft, Candace Hubbard, Brionna Stone and Kim Jorgensen

One of our most powerful tools is to share our stories.

If there is an issue that is particularly important to you or that you would like to raise in negotiations, please consider how it impacts you and contact a member of the bargaining team or Union Representative Kiambo White at 206-436-6515.
