Princess Beatrice’s husband shares a romantic, never-before-seen photo from their wedding day
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary yesterday. In honor of the occasion, Edoardo, better known as Edo, shared a sweet, never-before-seen snapshot from their big day on his Instagram.
“Happy 4th wedding anniversary my love. đź’Ť. Every day with you is so special. I love you so much,” he wrote in the caption of him and Beatrice kissing in their wedding dresses under the trees in Windsor.
The couple married on July 17, 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor. They had originally planned to marry in May of this year in a more lavish ceremony, similar to the wedding of Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, two years earlier, but for safety reasons the couple scaled back their celebrations to a private affair attended by a few close family members, including Beatrice’s grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Family ties were at the forefront that day, as Beatrice wore a vintage dress by designer Norman Hartnell, borrowed from Elizabeth’s collection – the Queen had already worn the dress in 1962 at the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia at the Odeon Theatre in Leicester Square and at a state dinner in Rome in 1961. Beatrice also wore Queen Mary’s diamond-studded tiara, which Queen Elizabeth wore at her own wedding to Prince Philip on 20 November 1947.
In the four years since their wedding, Beatrice and Edo have achieved a number of milestones, including the birth of their first child, a little girl named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. The couple also share a son from a previous relationship, Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, aka “Woflie”, who Beatrice has described as her “bonus son”.
