A televised live music performance featuring ethnic elements from home and abroad has won many fans and sparked new interest among young viewers in the diverse ethnic music culture and its instruments.
Featuring six Chinese singing couples and two international singing couples, the show includes eight musical performances showcasing different ethnic groups in China as well as music from Brazil and Russia. All performances are original songs and the audience is impressed by the performers’ singing techniques as well as the diverse ethnic culture presented in the show.
The performances include ethnic cultures, musical instruments and clothing from the Xinjiang Uygur and Xizang Autonomous Regions and Yunnan Province. Chinese singer Yang Ge and Russian singer Mariya Poezzhaeva sang a Russian song as a duet.
The three-part special broadcast Music in joypremiered on Hunan Satellite TV and Mango TV on Friday. According to Hunan Satellite TV, the show was No. 1 among all programs broadcast by the province’s TV stations at the same time. The show was also viewed 880 million times on various social media platforms on Friday, it said.
Backstage, Mongolian singer Ayunga taught Mongolian dances to the singers and presenters of the show.
