    Powerball winning numbers from 9/28/24: Jackpot at $258 million

    The Powerball jackpot rose to $258 million ahead of Monday’s drawing after no one won the top prize on Saturday.

    A lucky California player won a $44.3 million Powerball jackpot in August, the lottery announced. The week before, a player from Pennsylvania won the $213.8 million jackpot.

    If someone has the lucky ticket for Monday’s $258 million jackpot, they could take home about $129.3 million after taxes, according to the lottery.

    The winning numbers drawing was scheduled for Saturday at approximately 11:00 p.m. ET, and the results can be found below.

    The winning numbers for the draw on Saturday, September 28th were: 3, 11, 13, 24 and 39 with a Powerball of 22. The Power Play was 3X.

    In addition to there being no jackpot winners in Saturday’s drawing, there were also no $2 million Match 5 + Power Play winners or $1 million Match 5 winners.

    How to play the Powerball

    To purchase a $2 Powerball ticket, you’ll need to visit your local supermarket, gas station or convenience store – and in a few states you can purchase tickets online.

    To play, you must select a total of six numbers to mark on your ticket. Five numbers are white balls ranging from 1 to 69. The Powerball is red and one number is between 1 and 26.

    If you want to increase your chances of winning, you can add a “Power Play” for $1, which increases winnings for all non-jackpot prizes. This addition can multiply winnings 2X, 3X, 4X, 5Xor 10X.

    Players can also ask a cashier for a “quick pick,” in which the cashier gives you computer-generated numbers on a printed Powerball ticket.

    The drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. If there is no jackpot winner, the cash prize increases by millions.

    Tickets can be purchased in person at gas stations, convenience stores and grocery stores. Some airport terminals may also sell lottery tickets.
