Popular Kansas City chef shot while taking out trash at Brady & Fox in Brookside

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – Kansas City police are investigating the shooting death of Shaun Brady, a well-known Brookside-area chef.

Brady, 44, was gunned down in the parking lot of his business in the area of ​​63rd Street and Rockhill Road.

Brady is the chef and owner of the popular Irish restaurant Brady’s KC in Brookside, also called Brady & Fox, which is located one block west of Troost Avenue.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his regret on social media early Thursday.

Shortly after 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, Kansas City, Missouri police received a call about a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Brady in the rear parking lot. He had gunshot wounds and officers performed life-saving measures.

Eventually, Brady was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to KCPD, a preliminary investigation confirmed that Brady was taking out trash when he saw several people standing next to a vehicle. Shortly after he interacted with the people, he was shot.

On Wednesday evening, detectives spoke to several witnesses and reviewed existing surveillance footage.
