Police officers at the scene of the accident in front of Burns High School in Cleveland County

CLEVELAND COUNTY, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The NC State Highway Patrol and Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash in front of a local school.

The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon, September 18, in front of Burns High School, 307 E Stage Coach Trail in Lawndale.

The sheriff’s office confirmed to Queen City News that officers are still at the scene of the accident and the NC State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.

It is currently unknown how many injuries there are. Queen City News has reached out to the NC State Highway Patrol, Burns High School and the Cleveland County School District for more details.

Cleveland County Schools made this statement to Queen City News on Wednesday evening.

“The accident is currently being investigated and processed by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. From a school perspective, we will definitely have additional counselors at our middle and high school tomorrow to provide additional love and support to our students.”
