Even though Pixar still has the Inside Out 2 wave to ride, the animation studio already has its sights set on its upcoming projects. Today at D23, the studio announced the title and release date for one of its next titles. funnel Stars Jon Hamm (The morning show), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), And Piper Curda (May December) and is scheduled to premiere in spring 2026.

The story of funnel revolves around Mabel, a rather daring girl who has a big goal: to infiltrate the animal world. To do this, she transfers her mind to a robot beaver so that she can approach other animals and study their way of life. Of course, this practice will not be without problems and Mabel will certainly learn a lesson or two along the way. However, further details of the story are still being kept secret.

funnel released in the same year as one of Pixar’s biggest titles: Toy Story 5which will be released just a few months later, making 2026 a rare occasion where fans get two Pixar titles in the same year. The new title could breathe new life into a schedule filled with sequels and maybe even launch a new franchise if it performs as well as other Pixar titles that have become surprise hits.

The future looks bright for Pixar

It was a pretty big night for Pixar at D23. Aside from funnelThe studio announced a new series that was immediately eagerly awaited: Dream productions takes place between Everything is upside down And Inside Out 2 and reveal what goes on in Riley’s mind when the girl and her core emotions go to sleep. In addition, the studio revealed the release date for its first animated series Win or loseand revealed that The Incredibles 3 is already in production.

But before all this happens, there is still much Inside Out 2 Celebrations worth celebrating. Not only did the sequel become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, but its performance and popularity also suggest that the film will be a big contender during the 2025 awards season. So there’s a lot more good things to come with Pixar’s latest release before we even start thinking about future titles.

Disney and Pixar have yet to reveal further details funnelincluding additional voice actors, a concrete release date, and a trailer. However, considering it’s a 2026 release, it might be a while before we hear more about the upcoming animated film. In the meantime, you can still watch Inside Out 2 in the cinemas.
