PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Last night, the Pitt women’s volleyball team set a new attendance record in their 3-0 victory over Penn State at Fitzgerald Field House.
The number 1 seeded Panthers team got off to a fast start, winning the first set 25-15.
Pitt was able to catch up a 17-16 lead in the second set and won 25-19.
In the third set, the third-seeded Nittany Lions were behind 18:8, but were able to reduce the deficit to 18:14.
Pitt then pulled away and won the third set 25:18.
It was a new attendance record at Fitzgerald Field House: 11,800 people attended the game, beating the previous record of 8,865.
Pitt is the only Division I volleyball team that has not lost a single set this season.
The Panthers have won 21 sets in a row and are 7-0 to start the season.
