Phone-free pilot program in Fairfax County public schools

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Virginia (DC News Now) – The start of the 2024-2025 school year should bring fewer distractions for students at several schools participating in a cellphone-free pilot program.

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) said the goals of the initiative, which begins Sept. 3, are to “limit classroom disruptions and improve student engagement and learning” by creating an environment where students are not distracted by cell phones or social media.
