Philadelphia Phillies are among the teams that could challenge the New York Yankees star

The Philadelphia Phillies already have one of the most talented teams in Major League Baseball.

Over the last three years, the Phillies have been in a position to win it all, but have lost in the NLCS and the World Series.

They are still chasing the championship and have a great opportunity to do so this season. It’s an exciting time.

However, if Philadelphia does not win the World Series, it will be seen as a disappointment.

Dave Dombrowski has always proven to be aggressive when it matters, so expect that to be the case in the offseason when they aren’t winning. Even if they do win the Cup, the Phillies won’t settle for just one. They have a core that can win multiple World Series over the next decade, so it’s important to improve every step of the way.

They are the kind of team where you can’t ignore any free agent.

As Dombrowski has proven in recent offseasons, he will do whatever it takes to build a competitive squad.

If he sees someone on the market that he wants, he will usually find a way to make the deal happen, regardless of the price.

This could happen again this offseason with New York Yankees superstar Juan Soto.

It was surprising to hear Soto’s name in rumors about Philadelphia, but that just shows what Dombrowski has accomplished during his tenure here.

ESPN’s Jorge Castillo wrote that the Phillies are among the teams that could sign the four-time All-Star.

“The Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers are among the other clubs that could call. The Nationals would be happy to reunite, according to people familiar with the situation, but that would require ownership to commit more money for Soto than they have been willing to offer so far.”

A lineup with Soto and the batters already on Philadelphia’s roster is intimidating for opposing pitchers. Teams already don’t want to use that lineup, and adding arguably the best batter in the world wouldn’t help.

The rest of the squad consists of players except for the midfielder.

If they could find a cheap center fielder and spend the money needed to get Soto, they would have a lineup with no holes.

It’s uncertain how aggressive Dombrowski will be in his pursuit of the megastar, but if history repeats itself, he’ll be right in the middle of it.
