FOUNTAIN – One person was flown by helicopter to a Denver hospital following an incident, according to Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU).
It happened Thursday afternoon south of the Nixon and Front Range power plants, which are located on I-25 north of Pikes Peak International Raceway.
The injured person is an employee of a company contracted by the CSU. No other injuries were reported. The company has large trucks to transport materials such as ash and coal.
The name of the person and his health status have not yet been disclosed. The name of the company commissioned was also not known at the time of publication of this article.
According to CSU, the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is investigating what happened.
According to the CSU, there was no damage to the infrastructure and the site was not at risk.
