Democratic Representative Nancy Pelosi of California openly doubted that former President Donald Trump would appear at the presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris scheduled for Tuesday.
In an interview at TribFest, the former House Speaker was asked what advice she would give the former president regarding the debate, to which she joked that the two were “close.”
“Do you think he will show up?” Pelosi replied.
The interviewer asked if Pelosi knew something that everyone else didn’t.
“I know cowardice when I see it,” said the former Speaker of the House.
Pelosi and Trump have been rivals since Trump took office in 2017, and Pelosi has been a thorn in Trump’s side ever since.

Trump has given no indication he will not show up for the debate, hosted by ABC News on Sept. 10, despite complaining about the news organization’s bias. His team refused to change the rules originally agreed to by Trump and then-Democratic nominee President Joe Biden. As a newly appointed candidate, Harris sought to change the rule on muted microphones, but lost.
Although Pelosi resigned from her post as Speaker of the House earlier this year, she remains a driving force in Democratic politics and played a central role in forcing Biden to step down as the Democratic nominee.
