Pedestrian ran in front of truck and suffered “serious injuries”

Maricopa Police released new information today about an accident late at night that took a pedestrian to hospital.

Police and firefighters responded to the accident on West Smith-Enke Road, east of Santa Cruz Drive, just before 11 p.m., according to Regional Shipping Phoenix.

“A pickup truck driver reported seeing a woman on the side of the road as he was traveling west on Smith Dike and slowed down,” said Maricopa Police Department spokeswoman Monica Williams. InMaricopa.

“Unexpectedly, the woman tried to run across the road in front of the truck and the driver could not stop,” she added.

The woman suffered “serious injuries” and was taken to a hospital in the valley for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck remained on site and assisted the police with their investigation. He was not charged.
