Pat McAfee says the weak Carolina Panthers will “embarrass” the rest of the NFL

While things can only get better for the Carolina Panthers, fans won’t tolerate these losses for long. Even though the 2024 NFL season is only a week old, there are already alarming signs of what this fan base thinks of their team. The fact is that the performance on the field is poor and therefore not worth much. One fan is currently in the process of selling two tickets to the team’s hopeful opening game next weekend for a total of $1.80.

Here, ESPN commentator Pat McAfee talks about the 2024 Carolina Panthers’ total disaster on his show Tuesday.

If you’re looking for someone to blame, the main one isn’t hard to find. Legend has it that team owner David Tepper made the decision to draft Bryce Young number one last year when former head coach Frank Reich wanted CJ Stroud. While Stroud would have ended up in a far worse situation than he did in Houston, it’s not hard to imagine that this team’s future would be looking a lot brighter now if they had taken him instead of Young.

Meanwhile, two former Panthers quarterbacks were among the biggest stars of Week 1: Both Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold had very impressive performances early in the season. Somehow, the franchise has managed to zigzag where it should have zigzagged at the quarterback position for nearly seven years in a row. It takes a special skill to pull off a loss like that.
