Panthers WR Xavier Legette celebrates hilariously after his first career touchdown

With 1:09 left in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Xavier Legette scored his first career touchdown off Andy Dalton, tying the game at 14:14 . After throwing the ball to the ground, he broke into a wild celebration and pretended to ride a horse – something he spoke about on a podcast with Deebo Samuel earlier this week.

Legette has become known around the league for his deep Southern accent and has fully embraced the nickname “Big Country” that some have coined for him. The horse celebration is more than just a match to his origins in the country. He grew up riding horses with his father and uncle from a young age. He even has a quarterhorse he calls Dolla Bill.

“They are different horses. There is a thoroughbred, the standard horse. We have those too,
“Legette told Sports Illustrated’s Gilberto Manzano back in May, “We race these horses, but the quarter horses, they’re just our trail horses.” … Since I was a little boy, my uncle, my dad, we were always up Horses and always in the country, on the wildlife side, and that’s how I got into it.”
