Packers vs. Titans, discussion thread for the second half of week three

Last week, Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis threw 14 balls for 122 yards in a run-heavy game plan against the Indianapolis Colts. In the first half alone against the Tennessee Titans, Willis has already caught 11 passes for 158 passing yards, even though the Packers only recorded 19 runs on the ground.

Willis is the team’s leading player with 73 rushing yards, just one run (six) behind starting running back Josh Jacobs (seven). Overall, Willis has touched the ball 20 times, including sacks, with only 13 true handoffs as the Titans have focused on the Packers’ running game. The Green Bay Packers’ running backs have combined for 11 runs for 28 yards (2.5 yards per run).

Penalties have not helped the Packers either. They have been penalized six times for 45 yards, while the Titans have not conceded a goal so far. Thanks to Willis’ strong passing performance (118.8 passer rating) and a pick six from cornerback Jaire Alexander, Green Bay currently leads 20-7.

Aside from the Titans’ tough interior defense, today’s starter on their sideline was inside linebacker Kenneth Murray, who recorded two sacks and a tackle for loss.

It’s also worth noting that Packers kicker Brayden Narveson, who came into the game with a right foot injury, converted all four of his kicks today – two field goals and two extra points. However, Narveson’s longest kick to date was an extra point.
