This guy was one of the first customers to get his Tesla Cybertruck. He was also one of the first to put down a deposit, and he did so on the very night Elon Musk unveiled the model on stage in Los Angeles, when the windows shattered into pieces. But he didn’t like it very much, so he tried to sell it, and ended up trading it in. Now he’s found out the dealership still hasn’t sold it, and it looks like it’s staying there.

With all the Cybertruck hysteria going through the roof, not everyone falls in love with Tesla’s latest machine at first sight. Tyler Hoover was one of those people who just couldn’t feel any chemistry between them. He didn’t like the fact that the range was only 340 miles.

In addition, the vehicle was only capable of fully autonomous driving, but the FSD had not yet been added to the lineup. Elon Musk said it was coming soon, but Tyler never really trusted Musk’s timeline. Meanwhile, the promised full light bar on the vehicle’s roof was nowhere to be seen.

He also predicted a massive depreciation before the end of the year, so it was just the right time for him to get rid of the vehicle he I didn’t like it that much hated.

Tyler initially tried to sell the car with the help of a dealer. However, according to the sales contract, the person who sold the car was EV during the first few months of ownership required to notify Tesla and give the automaker the opportunity to buy back the vehicle at the purchase price listed on the final price list, less $0.25 per mile driven.

If Tesla refuses to buy back the vehicle, the owner must wait for the car manufacturer’s written consent before offering the vehicle for sale.

Tyler Hoover decided to trade in his Cybertruck, for which he paid $102,000, for a slightly used Cadillac Lyric. He got $111,000 from the dealer and paid $44,000 for the electric Cadillac, which was about $20,000 below its original MSRP.

Chevrolet dealer Davis-Moore in Wichita, Kansas, is selling its Cybertruck for $109,990, more than $1,000 less than the price they paid for it. Yet after three months of advertising, it’s still sitting on the dealer’s yard.

Now its former owner thinks he may have made a mistake. But then he realized he sold it at the right time, riding the wave of Cybertruck mania. The only thing he misses is the attention it got.

Initially, his previous electric car was listed for $140,000 and stayed there while the dealer kept dropping the price. But $109,990 is still a high price, and the truck just wasn’t selling. They’ll have to come up with something better. Right now, those looking to buy a Cybertruck can get a brand new one for $93,990.
