Owner of popular Bangor food truck remains confident after bizarre break-in

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Trust your gut.

It’s a phrase many have heard before when they have an intuitive feeling, and it’s a feeling that led the owner of a local food truck to a disappointing discovery.

On the morning of August 27, the owner of the Bangor food truck “Dreamer” was on her way to the gym.

But something told her to drive past the food truck and take a look.

She found a broken window and shattered glass everywhere and later learned that some people had broken into the food truck.

She called her business partner and the Bangor Police Department, who responded within less than five minutes.

Although the issue was frustrating and frightening, the support from the community had been overwhelming, she said.

“People have been constantly messaging us, calling us, telling us their story and just being willing to help. We really, really appreciate that. I can’t thank them enough,” said Anik Derphilibossian.

“These things only inspire Dreamer Food to do more and be better. This will not stop us in any way.”

Apart from a few bags of chips, nothing was stolen from the truck.

Despite the incident, they are open and still processing orders for a viral candy bar that is causing great joy among locals.

Bangor Police are still investigating the incident.
