Investigators say the family gathered at the Wyoming Avenue home to discuss the future of the property after Theresa DeLucia, Joseph’s mother, died of natural causes on Aug. 19. According to Detective Captain Fitzpatrick of the Nassau County Homicide Division, several family members had gathered in the living room with Starbucks coffee to prepare for the meeting. Joseph Delucia stayed behind, retrieved a 12-gauge shotgun and shot his siblings and niece before turning the gun on himself.

The victims were identified as Joanne Kearns, 69, of Tampa, Florida, Frank Delucia, 64, of Durham, North Carolina, Tina Hammond, 64, of East Patchogue, New York, and Victoria Hammond, 30, also of East Patchogue. Joanne, Frank and Tina were Joseph’s siblings and Victoria was his niece.
