“Original Sin'” will be released in December; first trailer released

Michael C. Hall returns as serial killer Dexter Morgan in the prequel. Dexter: Original sin.

Set in Miami in 1991. Dexter: Original Sin follows young Dexter (Patrick Gibson) on his journey from student to avenging serial killer. The series will be released on Friday, December 13th, on the streamer Paramount+ and will start on Sunday, December 15th, on Showtime. In the series, Michael C. Hall can be heard as the inner voice of the young serial killer in training.

According to the logline: “When he can no longer ignore his bloodthirsty urges, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. Under the guidance of his father Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on the radar of law enforcement. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship with the Miami Metro Police Department.”

The cast for Dexter: Original Sin also includes Molly Brown (Billions), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy), James Martinez (All the best, Victor), Christina Milian (grandfather), Alex Shimizu (The blacklist) and Reno Wilson (Good girls).

The series is executive produced by Clyde Phillips and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Executive producers include Scott Reynolds, Michael C. Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns. The series is produced by Robert Lloyd Lewis.

Ten episodes of Dexter: Original Sin ordered. The original series, Dexterran on Showtime from 2006 to 2013. A total of 96 episodes were produced.
