Game Notes

• Oregon State continues its 2024 schedule on Saturday when it hosts Purdue at Reser Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT.
• The game will be broadcast live on The CW. Ted Robinson (commentator), Ryan Leaf (commentator) and Nigel Burton (sideline) will provide commentary.
• The game will be broadcast live on the Beaver Sports Radio Network. A list of partners can be found on page two of these notes.

Oregon State in numbers

0 – OSU’s opponents have achieved fourth-down conversions on two attempts this season.

Against Purdue
• Oregon State and Purdue have only met twice before, both games in West Lafayette, Indiana.
• The Beavers won 22-14 in 1967, but lost 30-21 to the Boilermakers in 2021.
• Only four current Beavers played in the 2021 game, including Joshua Graywho made one of his 47 career starts in this loss. Skyler Thomas, Everett Hayes And Semisi Saluni was also played in the game.
Trevon Bradfordwho is now on Oregon State’s recruiting staff, caught five passes for 75 yards in the 2021 game.
• The 1967 victory came during the Beavers’ “Giant Killers” season, in which OSU beat the No. 2 Boilermakers and later No. 1 USC.



Hank in the end zone

Anthony Hankson scored four touchdowns in his career with Colorado and surpassed that number with five in his first three games as a Beaver.
• Hankerson has already recorded 283 rush yards this season and needs 37 to surpass his season-high of 319 he set last season with the Buffaloes.
• He scored two touchdowns against Oregon and is the first Beaver running back with five rushing scores in his first three games of the season since BJ Baylor scored seven in 2021.
• Hankerson ranks 19th nationally with 283 rush yards. His five rushing scores rank eighth.

Walker over three
Thomas B. began the 2024 season with five catches for 66 yards. He has already significantly exceeded that number this season, with a total of 20 passes caught for 192 yards.
• Walker averages 9.6 yards per catch. According to Pro Football Focus, Walker gained 102 of his 192 yards after the catch.

Starters
• Eighteen Beavers made their first collegiate start this season.
• Three more – Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan, Gevani McCoy And Van Wells – made their first starts in a Beaver uniform.
• Such a first starter is Dexter Fosterwho was the first true freshman to start for the Beavers this season at San Diego State.
• According to a study by the Air Force Communications Office, the Beavers’ 18 first-time starters are the third-most in the country.

Gray on his return
Joshua Gray was decided to return to Oregon State for his sixth season in 2024. The Rancho Cucamonga, California native has been selected to the second team all-conference three times, earning that honor in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
• Gray has now started 47 games during his career at Oregon State. With his 51st game, he surpasses OSU’s record-holder Roy Schuening, who started 50 games from 2004-07.
• Gray is on the first list of nominees for the Outland Trophy, given annually to the nation’s top defensive lineman. He is also on the list of nominees for the Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s top offensive or defensive lineman or linebacker.
• He is also on the watch list for the Senior Bowl.
