Oregon Duck tight end Terrance Ferguson injured, taken to locker room against UCLA Bruins

The latest injury report for the No. 8 Oregon Ducks (3-0) will face the UCLA Bruins (1-2) in Week 5 of the 2024 college football season.

Welcome to Big Ten After Dark with two former Pac-12 Conference teams in Oregon and UCLA. Oregon vs. UCLA begins at 8:00 p.m. PT at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The game will be broadcast on FOX.

Late in the second quarter, Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson took a hard hit from UCLA’s Bryan Addison (former Oregon Duck) and took some time to get back up. Ferguson left the pitch under his own power but had to go to the dressing room before half-time for further assessment.

Ferguson’s quarterback and best friend, Dillon Gabriel, had some good words for Addison after the hit.

More information on Ferguson’s status to follow.

What’s the latest on Oregon offensive lineman Matthew Bedford, wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. and cornerback Jahlil Florence?

Oregon coach Dan Lanning provided an injury update on Bedford (right knee), who suffered regression during rehab at Duck practice this week.

“Yeah, he actually got a bump in practice the other day,” coach Lanning said of Bedford. “So I’m just trying to figure out where he’s at. If he can help us this week, we will. But we will always put our players first and see where they are in the process.”

Bedford’s status is one to keep an eye on – the highly regarded transfer from Indiana has not yet played for Oregon, but his return would provide an exciting boost to Oregon’s offense. Coach Lanning said he felt the Ducks offensive line found its rhythm against Oregon State. With outstanding defense against the Beavers, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns and added 64 yards on the ground, including a 54-yard touchdown.

For the Bruins, coach DeShaun Foster announced that defensive lineman Kanye Clark and defensive back Keanu Williams suffered injuries in UCLA’s season-ending loss to the LSU Tigers.

Williams became the first UCLA defensive tackle to have a sack, a quarterback rush and a tackle for a loss in two games. Clark had two pass breakups and a solo tackle in two games.

“I feel for these guys and the positive is we’ll get them back next season,” Foster said.
