One person was killed and another moderately injured in an explosion in Tel Aviv – Israel News
On Sunday evening, an explosive device detonated on Lekhi Street in Tel Aviv, claiming the life of one person. Paramedics and emergency medical workers from Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that a man aged around 50 was unconscious, showed no signs of life and had several systemic injuries. They declared him dead at the scene.
In addition, a 33-year-old man was moderately injured. MDA paramedics and emergency medical technicians provided him with medical care and transported him to Sourasky Medical Center with shrapnel injuries to his limbs and chest.
Several options examined
Large police forces and the Israeli secret service Shin Bet (MDA) were on site. Tel Aviv district commander Peretz Ammar also arrived at the scene.
The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation as all possibilities are being considered, including a criminal incident or a terrorist attack. The possibility that this was an industrial accident and the victim is in fact a terrorist is being examined.
MDA paramedic Nitzan Faraj said: “We were called to the scene because citizens had heard a loud explosion. When we arrived, we saw that the truck was burning and next to it a man of about 50 years old was lying unconscious with severe injuries to several organs. According to the medical tests, he had no pulse or breathing and we could only declare him dead on the spot.”
