Burn after reading revolves around two gym employees, Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand) and Chad Feldheimer (Brad Pitt), who stumble upon a CD containing the memoirs of former CIA analyst Osborne Cox (John Malkovich). When the two hatch a plan to use the memoirs as blackmail in order to obtain a substantial sum of money for Linda’s expensive plastic surgery, they unwittingly enter a world completely out of their control and madness ensues.

The two did not give any specific reasons for their split, but assured their fans that it was nothing serious. Fortunately, the split is not final and the two plan to write and direct a film together very soon.
