As part of a deal with AMC, Netflix US has added a number of new TV shows, including one of our favorite shows of the past few years.

We’re talking about “The Terror,” a disturbing slow-burn horror series in which Jared Harris plays the captain of a ship that gets stuck in the ice on its way to the North Pole.

It is a 10-part season, which is unusually self-contained.

Although there is a second season of The Terror, it tells a completely different story, that of an internment camp where Japanese people were held on Terminal Island in California. This second season has not appeared on Netflix.

What they both have in common is that they are loosely based on true events.

HMS Terror was a real ship that went on expedition in 1845 with her sister ship HMS Erebus.

The series is based on a 2007 epic novel by Dan Simmons, which in turn is a fictionalized account of these historical events.

We strongly recommend that viewers in the US watch the film, however, viewers in the UK will need to stream it from Shudder as it is not currently available on Netflix UK.
