PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 25-year-old man was shot and killed in South Philadelphia after three suspects fired more than 40 shots near Broad Street Wednesday night, police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of Snyder Avenue.

Police said the 25-year-old man was wounded by multiple gunshots throughout his body and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:08 p.m.

According to police, the three suspects jumped out of a sedan and began shooting. They then stood over the 25-year-old and shot him as he lay on the ground.

Police believe the 25-year-old was the target of the attack. They are currently reviewing surveillance cameras in the area where the shooting took place.

According to police, no arrests have been made so far and no weapons have been seized.
