PORTLAND, Oregon – The Portland Pilots Women’s Basketball are going on tour! The 2024-25 team will travel to Croatia and Greece on their first overseas tour in over 20 years. The tour runs from August 12-22.
“We are very excited and grateful for this opportunity to travel abroad,” said Portland head coach Michael Meek. “We want to thank the generous donors who helped us make this spectacular educational and basketball experience a reality. Our 2024-25 team is grateful to everyone who supported our program on this journey.”
The team will spend nine days in Europe visiting different parts of Croatia before heading to Greece to conclude the tour. While in Europe they will see all the sights of the Mediterranean and play three friendlies. Opponents have not yet been announced.
The Pilots just experienced another magical season. They qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year, their seventh time ever and their third time in five years after winning the 2024 WCC Tournament championship, also their third in five seasons. The Pilots finished the season with an overall record of 21-13 and won over 20 games for the third consecutive year, a first for the program since 1997.
