EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – After more than thirty years of hosting music festivals in the area, the land previously used for Country Jam is now for sale.
The land is being sold in two parts, giving a new owner a total of more than 100 acres.
After Country Jam moved, the property owners told Dan Gjerseth, owner of Dan Realty Group, that they felt it was time to move on.
The portion of the land where the stages and main festival are located is for sale for $1 million and totals more than 80 acres. The land is in a flood plain, so nothing can be built there, but Gjerseth said that could be an advantage.
“It’s kind of like a valley here, and there are no houses right next door. Even though you’re literally right on the border of Eau Claire, the city of Eau Claire, it doesn’t feel like it,” Gjerseth said. “You’re just in the woods in this little preserve.”
The owners told Gjerseth that the land had been in the family for over 80 years and that they hoped someone else would enjoy it.
“They used it for family weddings, they used it for hunting, their great-grandparents even used it as grazing land for their farm,” Gjerseth said. “It was just such an important part of their family and they really wanted to go to someone who enjoyed it as much as they did.”
The other property, with more than 20 acres, is being sold for $500,000 and could be incorporated into the city of Eau Claire.
