Following the announcement, tourists took to social media to share their stories of nostalgia and now heartbreak. Many said they remembered riding all the rides, like the monorail and Ferris wheel, as children and created the same memories with their own children.

There is no doubt that everyone will miss the experience at Gillian’s Wonderland Pier.

People also took to social media in hopes of getting at least a small portion of their investment back. Tickets for New Jersey boardwalk rides are far from cheap these days. Family fun on the beach can cost a pretty penny.
