John Henry Edmondson received his heavenly wings on August 14, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones, at his residence.

He was born on September 26, 1957, in Halifax County, Virginia. He was the son of the late Phillip Edmondson and Sophronia Harris Edmondson. He was married to Carolyn Brandon Edmondson, who is still alive.

Survivors include two daughters, Carmen Edmondson and Te’Sarah Edmondson; one son, Brandon Edmondson; six sisters, Alberta Clark of Washington, D.C., Delores Lipscomb of Scottsburg, Virginia, Odessa Pyles (Ray) of Washington, Maryland, Precillia Simon (Ted) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Melva Edmondson of Brandy Wine, Maryland, and Mary Wright (Bill) of Scottsburg, Virginia; two brothers, Earl Edmondson of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Charles Edmondson (Ruby) of Scottsburg, Virginia; one granddaughter, Ciana Williams; and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Clark of Alexandria, Virginia, and Dorothy Clark of Maryland; and one brother, Robert Harris of Milton, North Carolina.

The family welcomes visitors to the residence.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Scottsburg, Virginia.
