Obituary for Eileen Ann Morgan 2024

EILEEN ANN MORGAN, 92, of Janesville, died Friday, August 23, 2024, at Whispering Creek in Janesville.

She was born on August 28, 1931, in Waseca, Minnesota, to George and Goldie (Armstrong) Berry. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1949, where she was crowned homecoming queen. She then attended Mankato Commercial College. Eileen married James Morgan on February 6, 1951, at St. Mary’s Church in Waseca County. After their wedding, they lived in Arkansas for a short time while James was in the military before returning to Minnesota, where they lived in Iosco Township and farmed. Eileen also worked at Preuss’ Bakery in Waseca and later at the Janesville Nursing Home and Lake Shore Inn in Waseca in the diet department. She was also a cook in the Waterville Schools. Eileen enjoyed baking, cooking, tending her garden, and sewing. She especially enjoyed showcasing her various canned and baked goods at the local county fair. Eileen was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, the Catholic Daughters, and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by four children, Patrick (Angel) Morgan of Janesville, Keith (Lori) Morgan of Janesville, Jane (Mark) Vortherms of Avon and Dean (Barb) Morgan of New Richland; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Berry of Altura and Therese Berry of Minnesota Lake; her brother-in-law, Joe (Kathy) Morgan of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, James and Roland Berry; and her infant great-granddaughter, Ada Lloyd.

The viewing will be Monday, August 26, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a rosary by the Catholic Daughters at 7 p.m. at Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt’s Waterville Chapel where the funeral service and cremation will take place. The viewing will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville. Interment will follow at St. Jarlath Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County.
