It’s Monday, so it’s time to start the week with a successful game Connections.

Connections is a play on words The New York Times which became very popular last year. It follows the great success of Wordlea game by software developer Josh Wardle.

Game instructions Connections

If you are new to ConnectionsDon’t worry, you’ll understand it quickly.

In the game you are given 16 words and your task is to group them into groups of four based on their relationships.

For example, in Sunday’s puzzle, one of the categories was “decrease” and the corresponding words were “regression,” “decay,” “shrinkage,” and “ebb.”

But be careful: some words seem to fit into multiple categories, which can trip you up.

The categories vary in difficulty: yellow is the easiest, purple is the most difficult, and green and blue are somewhere in between.

To play, select the words you think belong together and click “Submit.” If you’re correct, they’ll flash their category color and disappear from the board. If not, they’ll stay gray and you’ll lose a turn.

After four incorrect guesses, you’re out – but there’s no time limit, so you can take a break at any time and come back with a fresh perspective.

Green – things that might hurt to touch.

Blue – Words describing soft things associated with crying or lard.

Purple – Objects that all have a physical description in common; something that goes on top of an object, something that prevents change, protects or covers, etc.
