Not quite so humid at the end of the work week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The August heat will continue through the end of the work week, but the humidity will not be as high.

From tonight until Saturday night

A quiet Friday night is expected across the Big Bend and South Georgia. We expect dry weather under mostly clear skies. Lows will be a bit cooler. Most of us will wake up to temperatures in the 25s, but some places could see temperatures rise above 20s Saturday morning.

Another warm, mostly sunny day awaits us on Saturday. Temperatures will rise to 35 to 40 degrees across the region. It will be mostly dry in the first half of the day, but we expect a weakening accumulation of showers and thunderstorms to move in from the north by Saturday evening and night.

The chance for isolated thunderstorms Saturday night is highest in our south Georgia counties. A few showers could sneak into our Big Bend counties, but the chances are lower. Overnight lows will be 75 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit with partly cloudy skies.

Start into the new week

The forecast for Sunday is not changing much. The first half of the day will be mostly dry and warm again. Temperatures will reach 35 to 40 degrees Celsius with some sunshine. However, we expect another round of rain showers and thunderstorms through Sunday evening and night. Some thunderstorms could be severe, especially in our counties in southern Georgia. Lows overnight will be between 25 and 26 degrees Celsius.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are likely to remain at the start of the new working week. It will not rain everywhere, but there may be showers in some places. Maximum temperatures will be 35 to 40 degrees Celsius with a mix of sun and clouds. Minimum temperatures will be 25 to 40 degrees Celsius.

Advanced forecast

Drier weather is forecast for the middle of next week.

A scattered shower cannot be ruled out on Tuesday, but most of the region will be dry and mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-90s and lows in the mid-70s.

The forecast for Wednesday looks very similar to Tuesday. Isolated showers are possible, but the overall probability is low. Temperatures will be around 35 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Lows at night will be around 24 degrees.
