Noles News: FSU’s first seven must improve to avoid 0-2

Football:

If Florida State’s first seven players don’t improve their physicality, they face a 0-2 record in the conference:

A safe journey home for the Seminoles:

Hopefully FSU will walk away with a win the next time Ryan Fitzgerald has a day like this:

Such a weekend would definitely take the horror out of the result of Week O:

Week 1 features an excellent slate of opening games and it all culminates on Monday night when FSU hosts BC in prime time in Tallahassee, including two games everyone will be keeping an eye on:

No. 14 Clemson vs. No. 1 Georgia (-13.5) in Atlanta: The last time the Bulldogs and Tigers played each other in Week 1 was in 2021, marking the start of the Bulldogs’ national championship run and the loosening of Clemson’s stranglehold on the ACC. Now, the two programs enter Week 1 from opposite perspectives — Georgia on top and Clemson trying to fight its way back up. This is an extremely important opener for both programs to start the season on the right foot.

No. 19 Miami (-2.5) at Florida: If Miami wants to live up to its high preseason expectations, the Hurricanes will have to go on the road and take care of Florida. The Gators enter the season on a five-game losing streak after missing a bowl game in Billy Napier’s second season and going 1-6 against higher-ranked opponents. Miami has struggled especially in one-point games, going 2-3 against Georgia Tech last year with one of the worst game management scenarios in history. If they can put those issues behind them, they could make an ACC run.

Recruitment:

Two candidates on Florida State’s running back list are expected to make their decisions soon:

Four-star quarterback Tramell Jones has had a strong start to the season.
