Noel Gallagher relented and agreed to a £50million Oasis reunion with his brother Liam after late-night phone calls after 15 years of feuding – the duo confirmed they will make the official announcement in just two days

Noel Gallagher reportedly gave in during a series of late-night phone calls with his brother Liam and agreed to the rumored Oasis reunion, during which the two ended their 15-year feud.

The siblings’ contentious relationship reached its peak in 2009 after a backstage argument in Paris led to 57-year-old Noel leaving the legendary Britpop band.

In recent years, 51-year-old Liam has been desperate to reconcile with his brother and reform Oasis, but his older brother thwarted that idea.

But as Liam finished his performance at Reading Festival, he dropped a hint that there might be an announcement at 8am on Tuesday. A short clip of a sign in the style of the Oasis logo was projected onto a large screen above the stage and subsequently shared on Oasis and Liam’s official Instagram and X accounts.

Now the plans for the reunion are said to have been agreed in a late night phone call after Noel “kept his feelings secret for a long time”.

A source told The Sun: “Noel and Liam will never be best friends but they want to bring Oasis back for the fans.”

“Noel resisted for a long time, but finally gave in and agreed to return.

Before adding: “He’s spoken to Liam on the phone and they’re on the same page. They know this reunion is going to go down in music history.”

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Noel and Liam for comment.

Oasis were promised £50 million to regroup and embark on a world tour.

Following Noel’s £20 million divorce from ex-wife Sara MacDonald last year, the elder Gallagher is said to have been persuaded by the financial benefits of bringing the band together for performances at Glastonbury and Wembley Stadium.

It is expected to be the most successful tour in British concert history. According to industry insiders, the deal negotiated between the brothers will bring them 50 million pounds.

During his headlining gig in Reading on Sunday night, Liam, 51, played a series of Oasis hits from their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ to mark the 30th anniversary.

Performing “Half The World Away” – a 1994 B-side that also served as the theme song to the sitcom “The Royle Family” – he told revelers: “I want to dedicate this song to Noel f**king Gallagher.”

Liam continued to keep his fans in the dark by dedicating his rendition of Cigarettes & Alcohol at the Reading Festival to the people who hate Oasis.

The song, written by his older brother, was the last single from their 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe.

As he finished the set, Liam suggested that an announcement could be made at 8am on Tuesday. A short clip of a sign in the style of the Oasis logo was projected onto a large screen above the stage and subsequently shared on Oasis and Liam’s official Instagram and X accounts.

The white rectangular box with a black block in the middle had the date “08/27/24” where the band name would normally be. Then it flickered and the display changed to “8 a.m.”

Liam toured the UK this summer as part of his ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release in 1994.

Noel was conspicuously absent from the concerts, but during a show in Cardiff, Liam dedicated Half The World Away specifically to his “little brother” and said he “still plays the hard-to-reach guy.”
