No troop movements detected on the border with Belarus – State Border Service of Ukraine

The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service (DPSU) said it had not detected any troop or equipment movements near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the DPSU, said on television that Ukraine retains control over the border and has not identified any “non-standard situations”.

“Fortunately, the situation on the border with Belarus has not changed recently. All parts of the defense forces of our country fully control the entire state border with Belarus.

“We have not registered any unusual situations that would occur directly on our border. At the same time, we do not register any movements of equipment or personnel of the Belarusian army in the immediate vicinity of the border,” Demchenko said, according to Ukrinform.

However, Demchenko said Ukraine was aware of the risks posed by Belarus, whose territory was used by Russia to launch its invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and urged Minsk to “soberly assess” the situation.

“We understand that the Russian Federation can put pressure on Belarus to join the war against our country on a larger scale. Therefore, we must be prepared for any (situation) and have appropriate defense structures right on the border at all times, as well as fortifications on the border.

“However, we hope that Belarus will soberly assess the situation and not give in to pressure from the Russian Federation,” Demchenko added.

Ukraine: Russia used cluster munitions during power grid strike on Monday

Russia’s recent massive attack on Ukraine has once again led to widespread power outages. Kiev says that due to the use of cluster munitions, repair work can only begin after the mines have been cleared.

On Sunday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry warned Minsk in a statement against “unfriendly actions” after receiving reports from Ukrainian intelligence that Belarus “under the pretext of exercises is massing a significant number of forces … in the Gomel region near Ukraine’s northern border.”

“We warn Belarusian politicians not to make tragic mistakes for their country under pressure from Moscow and call on the country’s armed forces to stop their unfriendly actions and withdraw their troops from the state border of Ukraine to a distance greater than the firing range of Belarusian systems,” the statement said.
