- The Dukes finished the season with a record of 8-8-4 – their highest win total since 2017.
- Duquesne returns three of its top scorers: junior forwards Maya Matesa and Brianna Moore and sophomore midfielder Anna Bundy.
OPENING DRAW SUMMARY
- Pitt opened its 2024 season on Thursday night with a thrilling 0-0 tie against the 14th-seeded Georgia Bulldogs.
- The Panthers played hard for 90 minutes and had a better shot percentage than the Bulldogs in the game (18:10), with the edge in shots on goal five to four.
- This was the first time since 2016 that Pitt did not open the season with a win. However, it is also the first time in those eight years that the season began against a seeded opponent.
