Kai Cenat made big headlines back in July when he became the first streamer to sign with Nike. While the AMP boss’s penchant for sneakers is well-documented at this point, we have yet to see any major activations or collaborative products from the new relationship. That will change soon. Nike’s Web3 .SWOOSH initiative has just released a series of promotions designed to satisfy both categories.

It’s unclear whether Cenat is a true “collaborator” in this, but the Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” is the shoe in the spotlight here, adapting the digital concepts abundant in the .SWOOSH catalog to the iconic Tinker Hatfield design . A concept of the shoe is rendered in an in-browser game (see for yourself here) and features rigid panels in the timeless “University Red” colorway.

Shortly after the first info dump, Cenat joined the unboxing and revealed that the Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” maintains a similar shape overall, but the wavy mudguard and curved Swoosh each have ridged edges. In a kind of optical illusion, the mesh takes on a color gradient that is intended to reflect the angled look of the in-game model.

On social media, .SWOOSH also gave a sneak peek into Cenat’s end of things. A short promotional clip shows the Bronx native entering a one-to-one replica of his now-iconic Atlanta streaming setup, with the “low poly” motif featuring a pixelated cheetah-print carpet and PS2-like arcade machines in the background is expressed. Due to .SWOOSH’s creative side, a simple sponsored stream is probably not the end goal, but further details about their plans with Kai Cenat are not yet known.

.SWOOSH has announced that a pre-order for the Air Max 1 “Low Poly” will go live on October 8, 2024 for $150; Orders ship approximately 120 days after ordering.
