One of college football’s greatest coaches will see his legacy live on Saturday night.

As the Alabama football team prepares to play USF on Saturday, they are also paying tribute to Nick Saban by dedicating the field to the already legendary coach, so the full stadium name is now “Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.”

“College GameDay” took a moment to pay tribute to its newest panelist during the show in Ann Arbor on Saturday, recognizing Saban’s amazing coaching career in Tuscaloosa. In true Saban fashion, Saban spoke humbly about the commitment.

“I hope this reflects the legacy of all the players, all the coaches who have coached, the fans and the supporters who have made this program unique and successful over a long period of time,” he said.

“GameDay” then aired tributes from some of Saban’s top former players, including Derrick Henry of the Ravens, Patriots assistant coach Dont’a Hightower, Mark Ingram of “Big Noon Kickoff” and Barrett Jones. After listening to his former players, Saban then sneaked in a tiny recruiting speech: “A lot of great players,” he said. “A lot of great players. I’m proud we have 61 players in the NFL.”

Later in the show, Texans coach Steve Sarkisian – a former Saban assistant – congratulated Saban from the field at the Big House after giving an interview.
