Nick Cannon jokes: ‘Leave me out of this!’ after Kamala Harris proposes $6,000 tax credit for newborns

Nick Cannon, the versatile entertainer and father of twelve children with six different women, hilariously responded to Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent proposal to provide a $6,000 tax credit for newborns.

The 43-year-old actor and television host shared a meme on Instagram that quickly went viral. The meme featured a post from X (formerly of Twitter) touting Harris’ proposed tax credit.

A photo of Cannon was displayed above the announcement, suggesting that the news would be particularly beneficial to him given his large family.

In typical Cannon fashion, he captioned the post, “Let me out of this!” – a joking acknowledgement of the jokes that have accompanied him throughout his career as a father.

Fans and followers flooded the comments with their own jokes, with one joking: “Nah, you kind of brought this on yourself… now you have to call it ‘Cannon Credit’.”

Another chimed in, “You know you’re about to cash that check, Nick,” and a third added, “No, YOU, get out of this.”

But the playful banter didn’t end there: Others humorously questioned whether there would be a cap on the tax credit for people like Cannon, who was often the subject of memes and jokes because of his large family.

Although Cannon is not currently expecting any more children, he has never ruled out the possibility of expanding his brood in the future.

As part of a recent collaboration with Dr. Squatch, a men’s personal care company, Cannon reviewed his “family jewels” as part of an advertising campaign.

The brand even went so far as to insure Cannon’s assets, underscoring his reputation as a father of many children. “Kudos to Dr. Squatch for giving my balls the recognition they deserve and getting me the protection I need to keep this family tree going!” Cannon joked at the time.

Despite the challenges that come with raising twelve children, Cannon has embraced the role of father wholeheartedly.

In an interview with People in January, he admitted: “My whole life is a challenge. I don’t live a normal life, but I embrace it. I love challenges.”

When asked what he finds most fulfilling about being a father, Cannon said it is hearing his children say, “I love you, Daddy.”

Although he insists he’s “chilling right now” and has no immediate plans to have more children, Cannon humorously noted, “It’s so weird, everyone’s always trying to get me to have more kids. It’s like 12 isn’t enough?”
