NFL insiders flood the zone with numerous reports about the Panthers’ plans and possibilities

Last night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news that several teams around the NFL have contacted the Panthers and expressed interest in potentially trading Bryce Young, but that was just the final part of an incredibly busy 48 hours when it comes to news about Young and the organization.

As revealed this morning, at least five different NFL reporters working for various media outlets have uncovered stories about Young since Friday afternoon. Let’s break them down one by one.

If Carolina decides to trade Young, there appears to be a market for him. On Friday, ESPN’s Dan Graziano named four teams that could be considered as trade partners, picking the Miami Dolphins as the strongest possible suitor, along with the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.

Currently, the Panthers claim they aren’t really interested in trading Young. However, on Saturday morning, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that Young’s marriage to Carolina is over, no matter what the franchise says publicly. This means that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston’s end is literally over. Russini’s report also includes an anecdote from an anonymous Panthers player complaining that Young keeps making the same mistakes over and over again.

Later in the day, however, Jonathon Jones of CBS Sports reported that the organization currently has no plans to trade Young and that they expect him to play again later this season. It’s understandable why they would want to do that, even if they do want to trade Young – if only to increase his trade value. Jones also reported that his sources suggest the best offer they would get is a fourth-round draft pick.

Last night, just before bedtime, Schefter broke the news that several teams have expressed interest in trading Bryce Young. Unfortunately, Schefter’s report did not name the specific teams, but we can rely on Graziano’s four candidates.

Finally, on Sunday morning, we got a new report from NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. His report seems to directly contradict Russini’s account of the situation. Rapoport says the Panthers see this as just a break for Young, who will benefit from it.
