NFL fans unhappy with Al Michaels’ lackluster decision on first touchdown in Bills-Dolphins game

The Buffalo Bills struck first during Football on Thursday evening against the Miami Dolphins when Josh Allen fired a pass to James Cook, who found the end zone for the first touchdown of the night.

If you listened to Al Michaels on the conference call on Amazon Prime Video, you might not have been sure a touchdown was even scored. The Bills attempted it from the red zone on fourth down and devised a clever play to give Cook room to catch the ball and march across the goal line. The exciting moment elicited little reaction from Michaels, whose voice barely changed as he called Cook’s touchdown.

“Pass to the outside – completely open inside the 10, and James Cook intercepts the ball,” Michaels said as Cook scored his first touchdown of the season.

Michaels’ lack of enthusiasm for the first play that led to the score did not go unnoticed by NFL fans, who took to social media to voice their criticism of his lackluster decision in that crucial moment.
